The Background
Cathedral Ridge is a summer camp and retreat center within the Episcopal Diocese of Colorado. With breathtaking natural surroundings and a powerful mission rooted in community and faith, Cathedral Ridge needed professional, heartfelt visual storytelling to serve a wide range of audiences — from donors and board members, to families, clergy, and future campers.
That’s where Apollo and Pep Designs came in.
The Challenge
The Cathedral Ridge team wanted more than basic photo coverage — they needed a full creative and logistical solution to document each session, tell meaningful stories, and support everything from fundraising, to web design and social media with flyers, presentations, and brochures. Most importantly, they wanted to create something lasting and personal for each camper and family.
The Photo Strategy
My role combined creative direction, logistics coordination, and hands-on storytelling:
Content Planning & Coordination
Organized daily photo, video, and audio shoot schedules across all camp sessions
Communicated closely with camp staff, session leads, development teams, and board members to align visual goals with programming
Designed all shoots to align with the Cathedral Ridge brand voice and values creating usable branding photography, videography and audio content that could used across mediums and projects

Campfire songs, arts and crafts, archery, and smores
Group worship, family portraits, and quiet moments of reflection
Candid camper portraits full of joy, silliness, and connection
I led the full photography and visual storytelling direction for Cathedral Ridge, including:
